I just purchased a Nikon 5700 from a friend. My friend hardly used the camera and cannot answer my question. The first time I used the camera, the auto flash fired without a problem. Now it just reads SB with a red light. Battery is fully charged and I set everything back to defaults. I have read the manual several times, but there is nothing on the SB and the flash not firing. Can anyone please help?Try taking out the batteries, leaving it a few days and turning it on again.
Guesswork: SB is a Nikon flash designation, so is there any crud on the hot shoe and have you tried pressing the button to manually raise the flash?
Try the battery trick and let us know if it works.
