Vindigo and inshop.com Partner
Vindigo's free mobile service for Palm Inc. and Palm-compatible hand-held devices provides users with local content about where to eat, shop and play whenever they may be.
In June, Vindigo users in New York will have access to inshop's local store listings from their mobile device. As Vindigo expands to additional cities in June, including Boston, Chicago, San Francisco and Washington, D.C., inshop will provide its shopping information for those cities.
Financial arrangements between the companies were not disclosed.
Shopping information in Vindigo is organized into several categories, from men's and women's wear to hats, scarves and eyewear. Each listing includes location and contact information including store name, address and telephone number.
inshop, a privately held company backed by AOL Ventures, Hudson Ventures, Lazard Technology Partners and Gelardin USA LLC, provides shopping information specific to 52 cities.
Vindigo's core product, also called Vindigo, transforms Palm Inc. organizers and compatibles into personal navigators. Vindigo is a privately held company backed by General Atlantic Partners LLC, Flatiron Partners, Carlin Ventures, and private investors.
