Consumer Reports Online Unveils Holiday Shopping Guide
The Guide to a Hassle-Free Holiday also offers suggestions for sharing the seasonal spirit in ways that can make the holidays enjoyable without spending hours at the mall or going over budget.
"Holiday shoppers are faced with many shopping choices at this time of year--and stores, catalogs and online shopping make it so easy to buy and spend," said Nancy Macagno, director of new media at Consumers Union, publisher of Consumer Reports magazine and Consumer Reports Online. "Consumer Reports Online is a good place to get ideas for everyone on your shopping list--and tips to keep your spending in check."
The site offers Consumer Reports' annual rundown of products that should please people on everyone's gift list and toll-free telephone numbers to help consumers get in touch with manufacturers. It also gives Web users a list of features that make an e-commerce site consumer friendly.
There are descriptions of nine hot toys and comments by young, real-life testers on what they liked and why. The entire site is ad-free.
