How much in advanced will I know when I go to boot?

I swore into the DEP program and my soonest date I could be going is June 22, which is 4 days after graduation, but I was sort of wondering when will I actually know when I will be going? Will my recruiter be the one who tells me? its in your contract. Have you signed it yet?

my boyfriend recieved dates for when he could leave for boot camp. he was promised to leave july 2 but in a month advanced they said july 2 has no room and thats where the two options came in.his options were june 23 or august 14 or something.he told his recruiter he wanted to leave in june. and his recruiter set it up for him.
since june 22 is in 9 months it might change depending on if there is room.
check up with the recruiter threw out the rest of school and ask again in a month or two advanced to see for sure if you are leaving june 22.

You should know no later then 30 days in advance. At that point the orders will be final and you will have a copy.

Now keep in mind that just because you ship to your basic training facility doesn't mean that your 9 weeks starts immediately. When I went in 2001 we were placed in a staging dorm for 6 days (getting shots and all that junk) before Zero day. That was short, there were people there that had been waiting 4-5 weeks for the rosters to fill so that their cycle would begin. Don't worry, you will be paid... you just might have to wait for Zero day to begin.

Oh yeah, and do yourself a favor. Buy all the crap that they tell you needs to be in your packing list while at home. AFFES will screw you out of a lot of money if you wait to buy it while on base.
