Network Solutions Inc. said Tuesday it will become a premier merchant on Yahoo!'s sites and will offer its global domain name registration services, expanding an earlier alliance between the two Internet companies.

Under terms of the agreement, Network Solutions will become a major advertiser on Yahoo! and its services will be promoted across Yahoo!'s network including: Yahoo!'s U.S. site, Yahoo! UK & Ireland, Yahoo! France, Yahoo! Germany, Yahoo! Norway, Yahoo! Sweden, Yahoo! Italy, Yahoo! Denmark, Yahoo! Japan, Yahoo! Korea, Yahoo! Asia, Yahoo! Australia and New Zealand, Yahoo! Chinese and Yahoo! en espanol.

Network Solutions also provides domain name registration of addresses .com, .net and .org through 150 other company outlets. In November, Network Solutions claimed its 3 millionth cumulative net registration.

"This agreement with Yahoo! will potentially help small businesses and individuals make a name for themselves with Network Solutions and continue to extend the Network Solutions brand to the entire Internet community," said Doug Wolford, Network Solutions' senior vice president of marketing and sales.

"Our agreement with Network Solutions will provide our large audience with exposure to the small business tools that they need to launch their online presence," said Anil Singh, senior vice president of sales at Yahoo!.

"Network Solutions' registration services offer a solution for businesses and individuals around the world that need a Web address."
