CacheFlow To Speed Multimedia Content Delivery
CacheFlow said that embedding streaming capabilities in its CacheOS technology will enable a CacheFlow appliance to function as a streaming accelerator, eliminating the inconsistent quality and high bandwidth consumption normally associated with Web-based multimedia. The company said its streaming solutions allow enterprises, service providers and e-commerce/media sites to utlize Web-based multimedia for online training, coporate broadcasts, product and service demonstrations, interactive advertising, pay-per-view events and all forms of audio and video entertainment.
The initiative supports the three major vendor-backed streaming formats -- RealNetworks Inc.'s RealSystem, Microsoft Corp.'s Windows Media and Apple Computer Inc.'s QuickTime -- along with support for other leading formats including MP3 and MPEG.
Patrick Harr, vice president of Marketing at CacheFlow said the company's approach will result in higher stream quality and lower network congestion for all multimedia applications.
"The bottom line is that CacheFlow's multimedia offerings help organizations increase revenue, cut costs and enhance competitiveness," Harr said.
