Aiming for the B2E Space
Digital River said it "has opened new sales opportunities within the education market" for some of its software clients including Net Nanny, Radialogic and FWB Software.
The company rolled out a new verification and screening protection process to support e-procurement and other business-to-business complexities.
The new processes allow clients marketing to universities and other educational institutions to identify, validate and protect different levels of customer discounts and exclusive offers. Digital River also said it can create unique stores for students and/or for universities with discounts, pricing options and other levels of personalization.
"We know that vertical markets like education have very specialized e-commerce needs and it is important for us to anticipate and meet the e-commerce requirements of our clients and their audiences," said Joel Ronning, chief executive officer of Digital River. "scaling to serve the education marketplace is a logical next step."
"Our e-commerce system reduces the complexities and automates what has traditionally been a complicated off-line purchasing process," Ronning said.
Other Digital River clients that will be selling to the education market include StarNet Communications, Casady & Greene, LapLink, IMSI, MGI Software Corp. and Ericom Software.
Digital River provides front-to-back B2B and B2C e-commerce services include
site development and hosting, order and transaction management, system
integration, product fulfillment, e-marketing and customer service.
